About Tampa Woman's Club Membership Benefits

The GFWC Tampa Woman's Club (TWC) is a community service organization and is a member of one of the largest women's volunteer organizations in the world. Nationally, we are credited with starting 75% of the libraries in the nation. We build leadership skills and friendships all while making a difference in our community.

Responsibilities

In order to achieve our common goals, it is the members' responsibility to:

  • Attend regular club meetings held the first Thursday of each month.
  • Join a Department and participate in community service projects.
  • Participate in a Unit hosting one monthly meeting and card party.
  • Participate with the fund-raising efforts for the community.
  • Pay Club Dues by April 1 of each calendar year.
  • Learn and grow as a leader in the community while having fun.
Members must be at least 18 years of age or older to join.

Meetings

Regular Club meetings are held monthly, September through May on the 1st Thursday of each month. There is a day meeting and program starting promptly at 10:30 AM followed by lunch at noon and a program immediately following and a Night meeting for our working women starting promptly at 6:30 PM with either a pot-luck dinner or dinner out together immediately following.

GFWC Florida is divided into (14) districts and Tampa is part of District 8. The district has two annual meetings, one in the Spring and one in the Fall, as well as several workshops throughout the year.

GFWC Florida hosts two state meetings each year for it's members: Fall Board in September or October and the Annual Convention in April or May. All members are invited and encouraged to attend to learn more about the impact they make on their communities throughout the state.

GFWC hosts one Annual Meeting each year for it's members, typically in June. All members are invited and encouraged to attend so that they can meet sisters from all over the world; hear motivational speakers and speakers from special projects sponsored by GFWC.
